Teacher Fernando Toussaint, along with Bernardo Ron, Enrique Pat and Luis Ernesto Lopez, are Aguamala that was born in Playa del Carmen in 2004 as a composition workshop. The band has been the host band at the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival in the last 8 editions and this 2012 is preparing for the recording of a new live album.
They have participated in the Jazz Festivals of Port au Prince and Dominican Republic, as well as the Vive Latino 2010, the City Theater Esperanza Iris and the most specialized clubs in Mexico City.
Aguamala have had the participation of personalities of music such as Natalia Lafourcade, Eugenia Leon, Sabo Romo, Eugenio Toussaint, and Diego Maroto, to name a few, and they have opened concerts for artists like Marcus Miller, John McLaughlin Gino Vanelli, George Benson, Tower of Power, George Duke, and now they will share the stage with two jazz legends of all times: John Scofield and Wayne Shorter.
