Joe D'Etienne's Big Band was formed in September 2004 with the main objective of presenting jazz concerts of the highest quality. With emphasis on the style of the traditional jazz, the band has given numerous presentations at various forums in Mexico including the cities of Mexico, Pachuca, Irapuato, Torreon, Chihuahua and Acapulco, among other.
In Mexico City they have had presentations at Teatro de la Ciudad, Lunario, the festivals Ollin Tlalpan Jazz 2009, Jazz Coyote in 2007, 2008 & 2011, the Festival of Arts Luminaria 2006, as well as in the Mascabrothers Show Center, the National School of Music, the Superior School of Music, the music school DIM, the IPN, El Vicio, and the Isidro Favela Museum in San Angel.
They have accompanied artists such as Arturo Castro, Iraida Noriega and Elizabeth Meza. In July 2011, the band recorded their first production called "What's The Rush?", a compilation of 13 original compositions by Joe D'Etienne.
